When I try to play a DVD, Windows tells me I do not have a Video Decoder.
Updated: October 13, 2021
Cause - Proper Video Codecs are not installed
A codec is a device or program capable of encoding and/or decoding a digital data stream or signal. In layman's terms, it's what tells the computer how to understand DVDs and other video files.
If the machine is running Windows Vista or below and an error related to codecs is displayed while trying to play a DVD or other video file, download the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack. By clicking here you will be taken to the latest version of the codec pack; it usually updates once or twice each month. Advanced users can use custom settings during installation, otherwise we recommend the default installation options.
Another option for Windows XP users is the Combined Community Codec Pack from https://www.cccp-project.net/.
Windows 7 Users should download the Windows 7 Codecs from https://shark007.net/.
Information regarding these Codec Packs is provided as a convenience to our clients; Cybernet does not support these Codec Packs in any way.
