Frequently Asked Questions

What is the AI Performance of the CyberEdge AI Series?

The NVIDIA® Jetson Orin™ NX is capable of 100 TOPS maximum AI performance with 1024 CUDA cores and 32 Tensor cores. The unit also features 2x NVIDIA® Deep Learning Accelerator Engines. This is 3X the performance of NVIDIA® Jetson AGX Xavier.

Can you offer the same box in 8GB of memory instead? What about more or less storage space?

Certainly, please inquire with our sales as the standard configuration is 16GB of memory and 256GB of NVMe storage. Due to some limitations on the NVIDIA® platform, they require customizations.

What is the CAN FD bus used for?

The CAN FD bus is used for communicating with the onboard vehicle computer(s) and sensors. Developed by Bosch in the early 2010s, it is the successor to the original CAN bus interface to allow high performance communication for more modern vehicle systems. Through the CAN FD interface, the CyberEdge units can collect and monitor data, and also control different aspects of the vehicle's computer(s).

What is Ignition Control?

In most vehicle power systems, the initial ignition will put heavy stress on the system and the available power voltage will fluctuate because all the electronic and mechanical components in the vehicle are all powering on at the same time. Due to this, the DC power will fluctuate as low as 4V from the nominal 12V and will cause electronic components to potentially lock up or become unstable and not power up properly. The Ignition Control will resolve this issue by detecting the ignition, and through software initiate a timer that waits for the vehicle power to become stable before attempting to power on the computer ensuring a successful power up.
